Rekea – Design Slices

I started Design Slices as a side project with my friends, and fellow CGL alumni, David and Raven.
We decided to bring it forward after Rekea, our entry for the 2020 Global Game Jam (themed “Repair”), proved too good to be left by itself.

After a successful application for funding by the regional Media Board of North Rhine-Westphalia, we spent two months expanding the base concept. Bringing it past the simple mockery of big furniture brands’ language, we transformed it into a playful commentary on the history of European Design.

Hopefully, one day, we’ll have the chance to bring this concept to life but, for now, I think it is a good example of why I love Game Jams so much: you never know who you’ll meet and what will come out of it!
